I recently went on a small holiday to Melbourne – a city which I’ve been told many times that I belong to. I was born here in Sydney, and I’ve spent pretty much my whole life here (with the exclusion of the year I lived the the Philippines), but when I entered the small, culturally-rich city, it felt like I was being welcomed home by an old friend (a very trendy and hipster old friend).
I was mesmerised by the laneways, the rustic boutiques and the little cafés that lined the streets. The buildings were covered by graffiti-turned-art which was embraced throughout the entire city and the architectural mix of new and old was a beautiful sight for the eye. The parallel and perpendicular layout of the city centre made exploring easy (think mini NYC) and the shopping hubs were only short tram rides away. We stayed at the Docklands on the Yarra River which looked stunning at sunset and was only a short walk from the city centre. My good friend Steph actually flew down the same time I drove down so we managed to meet up for a day where she took me around Chapel street and we familiarised ourselves with happy hour (trust). I can see why a lot of people choose the Melbourne lifestyle over the Sydney lifestyle and to be honest, I wouldn’t mind moving there permanently one day.
This was planned by my mum so that we could spend quality family time together before I leave – 24 days to go guys!
Til my next post,
Besos para ti xx
Looks like you guys had an awesome time there cuz!!! =)

Haha I have family in Sydney that I need to get in touch with but I’ll be based out of Melbourne. I heard it’s a lot like San Francisco which is going to be amazing!!
